IMPROVED TABLE-LEAF SUPPORTER.
The Schedule refened to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.
To all whom 'it may concern:
Be it known that I, GEORGE L. GERARD, of New Haven, in the county of New Haren and State of Connecticnthave invented a new and useful Tableleaf Supporter; `and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and exactdescription of the. same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing and to the letters ofV reference marked thereon.

This invention relates to that class of leaf-tables which have their leaves supported by means of a swinging bracket hinged to ltheir lower side, and consists oi a stop of peculiar construct-ion, by means of which the bracket is securely held when in position l'or supporting the leaf. Y
To enable others skilled in the art to make and use my invention, I will now proceed to Adescribe fully the C represents the stop, provided with a recess and projections, the projection upon one side being longer than the other, as shown.
vWhen it is desired to use the leaf, itis simply necessary toi-aise it with the hand, when the bracketwll fall at once into its proper place by its own weight, and secure it (the leaf) in place. By means ot' the peculiar constrnctionrot' the stop the bracket is easily permitted to fall into place.
ltis easily caused to pass the small projection upon the adjacent side of4 the stop by elevating the leaf slightly above the level of the table; but when once in place it is securely held from accidental displacement by the weight of the leai` and the things which may be upon it.

In a table provided with a leafhaving av swinging bracket hinged thereto, the curved stop C, provided with a recess and projections, arranged as described forthe purpose set forth.
