and useful Improvements in Lanterns, of which the following` the reflector holder 9 being arranged above the lens holder 6 and the reilector holder.8 below the lens holder 7 with the lens holders 6 and 7 diametrically opposingthe reflector' holders 8 and 9 respectively.
The lens and `reiector holders are cylindrical f and the lens holders are provided .with dierent colored lenses v10, these lenses being retained withinthe holders byrings 11. The outer edgesof the lens holders are screw threaded, as at 12 whereby a. capl closed, as at 14 and support reflectorsl within said holders. With a red lens in the holder 6 and a white lens in the holder 7 the lantern can be positionedupon an automobile to provide a danger light and a light by which a license card can be observed at night. In this instance the cap 'is not used.
When the lantern is used by trainmen the cap 13 can be placed upon the lens holder 'G when it is desired to display'a white light and to display a danger light the cap 13 is removed from the holder 6 and placed upon` the holder 7.
From the foregoing it will be observed that I `have devised practically a double lantern that can be used for various purposes, and while there is illustrated ferred embodiment 'of the invention, itis to be `understood that the structural elements are susceptible to such variations and modifications as ,fall Within the scope of the appended claim. n
What'I claim is In a lantern, a cylindrical body, lens hold'- ers carried thereby, reflector holders carried in said lens holders, bein detachably mounted upon either of said ens holders.
'In testimony-whereof I aix my signature in the presen' e'of two witnesses.

Witnesses:
Snonovrrz,
can be screwed upon one of said holders.
The outer ends of the reflector holders are (i5- said body vandV arranged diametrically oppositesaid lens holders'with one setof kholders reversely arranged relativelytovthe 1 otherset, lenses .of different color mountedl nd a cap capable of Commissioner of Intente.
