One side of the case is provided with a rigidly attached holder E having spring clasps c c to hold a pen or pencil E firmly in their grasp. The opposite side of thecase at its closure end has a spring metal strip or arm F rigidly fastened to the case at one end and adapted to engage with the outside of an' upper vest-pocket and hold the case within said pocket. Near the forward end of the top of the case there is a perforation I-I through which a pushbutton I operates upon springmetal strip J said strip being attached at one end to the interior of the case the spring end thereof being provided with a point which when pressed by said button contacts with the contact extension A. A metal finger is pivotally attached at its rear end to the top said case. When it is desired to-use the pen or pencil, push-button I may be held down with one of the fingers-of the hand holding the case or' the other unattachedend of metal finger L may be swung over push-hutton I retaining its pressure upon the push-button as long as the rays ofthe flash light are desired to restupon the object being examined or on the paper on which the pencil or pen may be in use. 1
