America, residing at Turtle- Creek, in thecounty of Allegheny and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Figure Toys, o-f which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawing.

This invention relates to figure toys and has for its object to provide a devicejn a manner as hereinafter set forth which when operated will aifo'rd considerable amusement, particularly in view of the fact that the figure is the representation of a football player having a normally locked spring controlled pivoted limb, which when released is adapted to kick a ball positioned in the path of the foot of said limb toward, by way of example, a goal. I

Further objects of the invention are to provide a figure toy which is comparatively simple in its construction and arrangement, strong, durable, efficient in its use, conveniently operated. and comparatively inexpensive to manufacture.

lVit-h the foregoing and other objects in view the invention consists of the novel construction, combination and arrangement of parts as hereinafter more specifically described and illustrated in the accompanying drawing, wherein is shown the preferred embodiment of the invention, but it is to be understood that changes, variations and modifications can be resorted to which come within the scope of the claim hereunto ap- In the drawing :Figure 1 is a sectional elevation of a figure toy in accordance with this invention, showing one of its limbs projected in dotted lines for kicking a ball posltioned in the path of the foot of said limb, Fig. 2 is a rear sectibnal elevation broken away, Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the pivoted limb, and Fig. 4 is a perspectlve view, broken away, illustrating thetrigger and its actuating means.

Referring to the drawing in detail: 1 denotes the body of the figure having a stationary and a pivoted limb, 2 and 3 respectively. The figure is a representation of a foot ball player and the foot 4 of the limb 2 is fixedly secured to a base 5 having in its upper face a recess (3. The foot 1 having its heel thereof arranged overthe recess 6.

The limb 3 is provided at its upper end with a lug 7 having an opening 8 and said limb 3 at each side of the lug is formed with a curved shoulder 9 which 'bears against the curved lower edges of a pair of spaced arms 10 carried by the body 1. The lug 7 extends up between the arms 10 and is pivotally connected thereto by a pin 11.

The base 5 at its forward end formed wit-h an upright support 12 .for a ball 13. The support 12 is so positioned with respect to the foot 14 of the limb that when the limb 3 is projected in amanner as hereinafter set forth the foot 14=will kick the ball 17 having the rear end of a coiled expansion spring 18 connected thereto. The forward end of the spring 18 is fixedly secured to a plate 19 which is formed integral with the back of the foot l4'as clearly illustrated'in Fig. 3.

Pivotally mounted within the recess 6 is a trigger 20 against which bears a coiled spring 21 arranged in the pocket 22 formed in the bottom of the recess 6. The spring.
