As best shown in Figs. '1 and 5, the elastic holder for the articles inclosed in the box 1 is formed by cutting a tongue 40 in the web of the material from which the box or 'casing is formed, and preferably terminating the cutll-thus formed in enlarged apertures 42, through which a continuous elastic band may extend by being'slipped over said tongue through the cut 41, as best shown in Fig. 5, and, as best shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the front wall 11 may be provided with similar elastic fasteners i5.

- It will be obvious that when an article, such as is shown inclosed in the box, is attached to the front wall, it is spread out for display when the front 'wall is opened, as shown in Fig. 2, and is returned to its compact form without wrinkling any portion of said article, by returning said front wall to itsnorinally closed position. the portion of said article attached to the front wall being thereby slipped beneath the portion in the box.

It may-be here noted that a box made in accordance with this invention, may lie flat upon the bottom of a show window or show case, with the lid extended "in a plane, as shown in Fig. 3, or the free flap 13 may be bent upwardly, as shown in Fig. 4,-to support the box body in tilted position. In either position, however, the lid does notobstruct'the View of adjacent surrounding articles on display.

It is not desired to limit this invention to the precise details of'construction and arrangement herein set forth, as various modifications may be made therein without departing from the essential features of the intention as defined in the appended claims.

Having thus described my intention, I claim:

1. A folding box formed of a blank of sheet material, and comprising a bottom, side and end walls, and a lid in integral relation, one of said side walls being hingedly connected with said bottom wall and with said lid, and the end walls haying extensions of less width than said walls, folded inwardly against the inner surface of said end walls and terminating free of the side wall adjacent to their free ends, and forming ledges for said lid, and a flap hingedly connected to said lid and having means guided by. the slot formed between the side wall and the end of said reinforcements, and engageable with said reinforcements to lock said lid in closed position.

2. A folding box comprising a bottom, a

' side wall in fixed relation with said bottom,

end walls in fixed relation to said bottom and side wall, reinforcements extending along the innersides of said end walls and terminating short of said side wall, and haring notches at. their lower inner corners, a side wall hingedly connected with said bottoin,-a lid hingedly connected with the movable side wall and arranged to rest upon said ledges within the walls of said box when closed, and a flap hingedly connected to said lid having projections extending along its outer free ends arranged to slide within said box between the ends of said reinforcements and said side wall, and cooperative with said notches to lock said lid in closed posit-ion.
