Tinnen, citizen o'lt the llihited States of America, re at Vyandotte, in the county oi' iVayne and Si ate ot' Michigan, have invent-- ed certain new and useful Improvements in Dispensing-lteceptaoles, of Whieh the following is a specification, reference beingr had therein to the accompanying drawings.

This invention relates to dispensing boxes, cans and other receptacles and to an ar rangen'ient thereof whereby small quantities.

The invention consists in the matters hereinafter set forth and pointed out in the amnended claims.

The segmental portions indicated at 7 on either side of the tongue and line (t are bent transversely to the plane ot the tongue so the;y can be in- 2 through the slot- 2. The cover is raised as indicated at 8 to 'receive the tongue -l when the cover is closed and. the spout turned inward, a seal' 9 ot' suitable material holding this in position. The hinge portion 5 is bent at substantially the renter ot ciu-vature of the seg' mentsl 7 and the latter are so proportioned in relatitn'i to the slot 2 that when the hinge 5 is bent to bear against the under face of the cover the. sides ot the spout oompletelv fill the slot longitudiually. l

'lhe spout is in proper shape for ease in pouring and when turned haelt into initial position seals the cover and preserves the contents of the receptacle from deterioration. As the spout is formed of one. piece the segmental sides'tend to spring apart and therefore frictionally engage the margins ot the slot in the head of the receptacle so that the spout maintains its-position when adjusted in any pouring an le.
