Be it known that I, ALBERT D. Said block is provided its rear end with a slot 8 in which are inserted clamp springs 9 similar in structure to the clamp spring structure shown in my above mentioned patent, hence no detailed. description of the same is given here, such spring lip b ing ap ed o ng h jaw 2 t i hold the block 7 in fixed position.

The block 7 is provided with a projecting shelf 10 at its lower end. Said block 7 is provided in its front face from the plane of the shelf 10 to its upper end with a vertical semi-circular groove 11 adapted to receive 8. pin 12 on an independent auxiliary jaw member 13 whi h slot and pin structure permits said jaw 13 to be swiveled in difierent direction when the diflerent irregular shaped articles are disposed between the Jfn e f aid j w 13 a d t jaw th nd'ja cent edges of said block 7 and said jaw 13 being cut obliquely away from each other for this purpose;

all showing a varied number of recesses and depressions cut in the faces of said auxiliary jaw members, whereby allowing any form of irregular object to be received between the jaw members and fit therein and be held snugly by the vise.

From the foregoing description it will be readily seen that I have produced such. a

device as can be readily used for any number of irregular objects, but whileI have: shown but a few examples of different forms of jaw members adapted to be used for this purpose, still in practiceI will use any form of jaw or any jaw member provided with any form of recess or depression found desirable for the purpose .Alsovthe device is so constructed as to hold any bolt,

From the foregoing description it willbe readily seen that I havep'rodu'ced such a deviceas substantially fulfils the objects of the invention as set forth herein.

While this specification setsforth in detail the present and preferred construction of the device, still in practice such deviaon it withtions from such detail may be resorted to as do not form a departure from the spirit of the invention. 1

Having thus described my invention what I claimas new and useful and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:

1. A device of the character described comprising the combination with a vise having a fixed and a movable jaw, of an attachment for said vise, such attachment comprising a forked standard, a threaded pin on said standard, a block mounted. on said threaded pin, a vertical slot in saidblock, clamp springs on said block, a pin projecting into said slot and provided with a transverse slot, a bolt projecting through said springs and into said. last named slot, and an auxiliary jawmember mounted on said last named pin, as described.

2. A device of the character described comprisingthe combination with a vise having a fixed and movable jaw, ofran attachment for such vise, such attachmentcomprising a fork standard, a threaded pin on said standard, a block mounted on said threaded pin, a vertical slot in saidblock,
