Another object of-the invention is to provide a belt buckle formed with a reciproeating hook member arranged in a housing and a co-acting plate formed with interlock ing projections designed to receive the hook portion of the hook member.

A practical embodiment of the invention is represented in the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specification in which similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the views.

Having thus described my invention I claim as new'and desire to secure by Letters Patent: T

1. In a device of the character described, a buckle formed of a body portion havin' rearwardly extendin flanges, each ofsaid flanges being forme with a slot therein,
