A cast metal side frame provided at i, each end with a pair of vertically disposed receiving` t-he bolt lug on the inner side or integral pedestal jaws, said jaws havingl f pockets or recesses formed on the inner sides able members beiner connected to the lower portion of the side frame and to the bolts that retain the journal-boxes in position.

6. A cast metal side frame provided at each end with a pair of integral vertically disposed pedestal jaws, the portions of the side frame which extend across the spaces between the jaws being` provided with openings for receiving the through-bolts that retain the journal boxes in position and the inner faces of the jaws being provided with -g Losanna grooves for receiving said-bolts, and removable members at the lower ends of said jaws that extend transversely y across the under side of the journal boxes.

7. A cast metal side frame provided at 'each end with a pair of integral vertically each end with `a pair of integral 'verticallyI disposed pedestal jaws, the portions of theA side frame which extend across the spaces between the jaws being provided with openingsfor receiving the through-bolts that retain the journal boxes in position and the inner faces of the jaws being provided with grooves for receiving said bolts, pockets in said jaws for receiving the bolt lugs on the upper portions of the journal boxes, the outside jaw of each pair being shorter than-the coperating inside jaw, and straps detachably connected to the side frame and arranged on the under side of the journal boxes.
