IMPROVEMENT INEDGE-TRIMMERS.
The Schedule referred to in these Lette-rs Patent and making part of the same.
I, WILLIAM E. HORNE, of Decatur, in the county of Macon and State of Illinois, have invented certain yImprovements in He(lge-Trimrne1s, of which the following is a specification.
lifetime and Objects of the Invention.
My invention relates" toa machine for trimming osage, thorn, arbor vitae, and other hedge fences, by means of, knives 'revolving rapidly and making a smooth and'elean out, Ytrimming thehedge in a coneshape, the knives being raised, lowered, or set at an angle of not over thirty-five (35) degrees.

General Description.
A A is the frame of the machine. B B B are the knives.
The knives B B B being bolted on disk C, can be ard E, and through a flange ou the journal of the shaft D, thereby raising, lowering', or setting thel shaft` D, to which the disk C ,is attached.
.The shaft Gis supported by standards I-I H.
The shafts D and G are coupled by a pivot-coupling, as shown at I.
J is an endless chain on pulley K on shaft G, and
pulley L on shaft M.
N N are cog-wheels on shaft M.
O O are cog-Wheels oh shaft Q Q.
Those cog-wheels can be thrown out of gear in turning corners by levers R R, under control of the driver on seat T.
The wheels of the machine P I? are permanently secured to the shafts Q Q, said shafts being supported by journals S S S S, bolted to the bottom of the frame A.

with the shafts D and G, pivot-coupling I, and the flange journal, adjustableby means of the bolt (having nut I?) passing through the slot in the standard E, substantially as and for the purpose herein set forth.
