' Be it known that I, ALEXANDER Enwann LANE FoX'Prrr Rrvnns, a subject of the King of Great Britain and Ireland, and a resident oit' Salisbury, England, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in GolClnbs; and I do hereby declare the followingf to he a full, clear, and exact description of the same.

This invention relates to improvements in golf clubs. particularly, those used for driv ing or making; the longF strokes, oi the kind having a block of metal at the central part secured with the aid of a sole plate, and has for its object to consti-net the elnh head in such manner that. the 'torce of a hit will be better concentrated on the hall, While the shook due to the impact will he better distributed in the clnh head. whereby longer and truer :strokes may he obtained and the life of the club will he lengthened.
