Referring now to Figs. 1 to '5 inclusive of the drawings, the reference-character 1 indicates a portion of a tubular or hollow corner post ofa bedstead, that shown in the accompanying drawings being of the usual cylindrical form, but it will be evident thatthe tubing of which the post is made may be of any other desired cross-section. At the proper point where the bracket-member 2 is to be connected or joined to the said post, thel latter is provided with a suitably formed slot or opening 3. Suitably disposed within the interior of said tubular or hollow post 1 isa correspondingly shaped lock-plate, as t, sometimes' called the washer, the main body-portion of this plate in the present instance being curved, so as to provide a pair of wing-like members 5 and 6-which conform to and register with theinner surface-portions of the said post -1, substantially as illustrated in said Figs.

In a corner-fastener for bedsteads, in combination With a tubular post provided with an opening in its side, a lock-plate Within said post, said lock-plate being provided With an opening in registration with the opening in said post, and bracketmember provided with a perforated extension adapted to be inserted into and passed through the registering openings in said post and lock-plate so as to extend into the interior of said post, a vertical extension connected with said lookplat-e, and side-lugs connected with and projecting from said vertical extension toward the central axis of said post, said vertical extension and said side-lugs forming a guide, and means permanently arranged in said guide but adapted to slide therein, and adapted to be brought into looked engage ment With the perforated extension of said bracket-member, substantially as and for the purposes set forth.

In a corner-fastener for bedsteads, in combination With a tubular post provided with an opening in its side, a lock-plate Within said post, said lock-plate being provided vvith an opening in registration with the opening in said post, a bracket-member provided With a perforated extension adapted to be inserted into and passed through the registering openings in said post and lockplate so as to extend into the interior of said post, a vertical extension connected with said lock-plate, and side-lugs connected with and project-ing from said vertical extension to- Ward the central axis of said post, said vertical extension and said side-lugs forming a guide, and a Wedge-shaped key permanently arranged in said guide but adapted to slide therein, and adapted to be brought into locked engagement With the perforated extension of said lock-plate, substantially as and for the purposes set forth.

In a corner-fastener for bedsteads, in combination With a tubular post provided With an opening in its side, a lock-plate Within said post, said lock-plate being provided vvith an opening in registration with the opening in said post, a bracket-member provided With a perforated extension adapted to be inserted into and passed through the registering openings in said post and loekplate so as to extend into the interior of said post, a vertical extension connected'With said lock-plate, and side-lugs connected with and projecting from said vertical extension to- Ward the central axis of said post, said vertical extension and said side-lugs forming a guide, a Wedge-shaped key permanently arranged in said guidey but adapted to slide therein, and adapted to be brought into locked engagement With the perforated extension of said lock-plate, and means connected With said lock-plate and in engageH ment with said key'for limiting the slidable movements of said key, substantially as and for the purposes set forth.
