Specification of Letters Patent.

To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, MATTHEW MATUTINO- VICH, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented new and useful Improvements in Bottles, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to bottles and its object is to provide a receptacle for liquids and secure in the mouth of same a stopper which will permit of the emptying of the bottle but when an attempt is made to refill same a valve prevents the reentrance of liquid as will be more fully described in the following specification, set forth in the claim and illustrated in the drawings, wherein,

In carrying out this invention which is adapted to provide a cheap and simple device, the bottle is made in the usual manner and the neck 5 has an interior valve seat 6 into which a valve 7 fits. An interior shoulder 8 is also formed within the mouth of the bottle and a recess 9 is formed at the upper edge of the mouth. This recess is to receive the stopper 10 having a perforation 11 and two depending spring fingers 12 with offsets 13 at their lower ends to fit within the shoulder 8 and prevent the removal of the cap after the bottle has been filled with liquid and the valve 7 put in place. On the lower side of the stopper 10 and covering the opening 11 is a perforated disk 14 having the notches 15 through which the fingers 12 pass.
The valve 7 practically forms the closure for the bottle, but when the bottle is turned upward to enter the contents this ball rolls downward into the chamber 16 within the mouth so that the liquid may run through the mouth and out, of the perforation 11, the washer 14 being provided to prevent the valve 7 being tampered with. When an attempt is made to pour liquid into the neck, the valve 7 will prevent its entrance into the bottle and any attempt to remove the stopper 10 would result in its destruction and be evidence that the bottle had been tampered with.
While the stopper is shown as being constructed of glass it is obvious that any other suitable material may be used. The valve may also be of glass in order to present a harmonious effect.
What I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is,
In a non-refillable bottle, the combination of a neck provided with a valve therein, of an annular groove formed on the interior of the neck and adjacent the outlet of the same, a stopper comprising a disk adapted to be seated in the groove and having an opening eccentric of the disk, a screen arranged on the inner surface of the disk and covering the opening therein also seated in the groove and provided with notches in the sides thereof, depending arms secured to the disk and extending through the notches in the screen to the interior of the neck and terminating in offset portions adapted to engage shoulders on the interior of the neck to positively lock the disk and screen in the groove.
