have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Gas orVapor-Stoves; andI do hereby declare.

' The nature oflmy'invention consists in the con i struction and arrangement of a gas or vapor-stove,

as will be hereinafter fully set fort-h.

In order. to enable others skilled in theart to which my invention appertains to make and use the same, I will now proceed to describeits construction and operation, referring to the annexed drawings, in

The a pipe B is at one end to be connected with the reservoir containing the gasoline or other suitable fluid for generating the gas.

At the other end of the pipe B is attached a pipe,

D, which leads downward and is then curved inward and upward,'eomjngup directly in the center of the store A, and is at this end providcdwith a burner, E. The side of the store where the pipe D descends is provided with a recess, so that the said pipe, with the pipe 13, may be moved to bring the burnerE to either side of the center, as may be desired.

Above the burner E, in the center of thestove, on

legs G G, is supported aplate, H, having a series ot' holes through it, and ,on top of, this'plate is pivoted another plate, I, similarly perforated. This upper plate can be turnedon its pivot, so as to allow more or less of the heat to pass up through the center.

The plates or grates III are situated directly beneath the pipe B, so asto generate the gas for supplying the burner, and any vessel may be placed on the stove for cooking or heating.
