In. wireless telegraphy and telephony, it is necessary to tune or adjust coperating circuits so that they will act inresonance. In making such `adjustments it is desirable to provide means for adjustin the inductance of each circuit, and to adjust the relation of the two circuits with each other.`
The present invention relates to a simple device by which these adjustments can be quickly andaccurately made.
Referring to theaccompanyin drawing forming part of this application go Figure 1 is a side elevation partly in section of vthe improved device; and Fig. 2 is an end view thereof.

The diameter of the coil H is such that the same will tit inside of the cylinder D, and the cylinders D and G are arranged in linev so that the coil H can be adjusted inside the coil E as far as desired. By this arrangement the inductance of each circuit can be quickly and accurately adjusted, and the position of the two coils can be adjusted relatively to each other, whereby the action between the two coils can also be regulated. j
The device can be used for adjusting the inductance of any two circuits, and for adjusting the action of the two circuits on each other. The device therefore provides a convenient, simple, and readily acting means for the purposes stated.
The details and arrangements herein shown and described may be greatly varied by a skilled mechanic without departing from the scope of our invention as expressed in the claims.
Having thus fully described our invention, what we claim and desire to secure by Letters-Patent is 1. The combination of a cylinder, an inductance wound thereon, means outside of the c linder for adjustin the numberA of coils included in the circuit, a second cylinder, an inductance wound thereon, which second cylinder and inductance'can be adjusted inside of the first cylinder and inductance, and means arranged inside of the second cylinder for adjusting the number of coils which can be included in the second circuit.
2. In a device of the class described, the combination of a cylinder having a spiral inductance Wound thereon, an adjustable traveler engaging the same, a second cylinder having an inductance wound thereon, and provided with a slot, and an adjustable traveler arranged inside thereof, and making contact with the inductance through the slotin the second cylinder.
3. The combination of a base, a standard carrying a cylinder of insulating material, an inductance wound thereon, an adjustable traveler carrying a contact engaging the inductance, a standard movably mounted in the base, means for adjusting the position thereof, a cylinder of insulating material carried by 'the movable'standard, an inductance Wound thereon, and an adjustable traveler arranged inside of the second cylinder and engaging the second inductance through a slot cut in said cylinder, the second cylinder and inductance being arranged to fit inside of the first cylinder.
