To all whom it may concern: l

Be it known that I$7 PHILIPP SCHNEIDER, a citizen of the United. States, residin at St. Charles, in the county of St. Charles and State of Missouri, have invented new and useful Improvements in Boot-Cleaners, of .which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to boot cleaners and has for an object to provide a cleaner wherein the dirt will be held against falling over the sides of the receiving pan when the foot is rubbed across the mat or grat-ing of the cleaner.

The mat embodies a rectangular tray member l which is formed preferably of constructed to provide spaced parallel side walls 2 and spaced end walls 3. The end portions of the side Walls bent inwardly at el, to form spacers for a purpose to be hereinafter described, said portions being soldered or otherwise suitably secured to the inner surface of the end walls.
