ln using my improved rack any desired number ot towels are hung iipon the studs 3 after the members 6 have been lifted to the position shown in dotted lines in Fig. 3 and in i'nll lines in Fig. il, said towels being provided with eyelets or holes to receive the, studs 3. After. the clean towels have thus been hung upon the studs the sections 6 are ldrawn down into engagement with the studs and said sections fastened and locked' in the marmer described. After thus securing the clean towels they may be successively swung around from thest-udsover theibail sha-'pe sections 4 to an operative posit-ion wh rein they will be` suspended from the rac -by the outer sections 6 of the holding members. AHaving thus described my invention, what l claim is:

A towel rack comprising tiet plate hav-I ing, its opposite longitudinal edges A bent downwardly to forni towel engaging ledges,

meansl for rigidlyy support-ing.the plate in a horizontal position, studs secured adjacent to one edge of the latter, the upp'er ends of which are reduced to form pins7 baile movably mounted upon the plate one end of which are provided with sockets to receive the pins of the studs, a locking bar slidably and detachably located in slots in the lower' ends of the 'bail adjacent the head thereof, whereby-whenthe-bar is withdrawn l from the slots the-bail can be elevated and turned' to exposethe pins of the studs, and means for holding the bar to prevent longitudinal movement thereof.
