i following is a specification.`
My invention relates"v to improvements in devices for mixing spraying compounds, and it consists in the combinations, constructions and arrangements herein described and claimed.
An object of my invent-ion is to .provide a device in which substances such as'sulfur and lime may be 'mixed with water so as to insure the. production of a'homogeneous substance.
A further object of my invention is to provide a device which will automatically mix the ingredients of the spraying solution, said device being provided with arms or Scrapers which tend to scrape the solid portions of the mixture toward the central partl ofthe device. thereby preventing:r the clogging of the device.
A further objectof my invent-ion is to provide means by which the larger solid portions of the mixture lmay be broken up.
A further object of my invention 1s t0 provide a device havingT a series of scrapers. certain of sa'id Scrapers having a raking` movement with means for adpisting the movements and positions of the scrapers.
Other objects and advantages will ap pear in the following specification, and .the novel features of the device will be particularly'pointed out in the appended claims.

The .details of the main n 'Xing tank v1 are best shown in Figs. 2 and 3. It will be seen that the tank is provided at each end with a bearing l10. A description of one ot' these bearings will suffice, since they ait` both alike.v They consist of blocks I0 provided with a semi-cylindrical bearing portion b arranged to receive a rod 11. lThe vrod is kept in position by means ot' a plate 10, which slides above the rod..but beneath four lugs such as that shown at 10d. The plate is limited in its movement by a stop member 10 at one end of the block 10. A bolt 10t secures the plate 10C in position. The rod 11 extends through both ends of the device. At one end it is connected by a pivoted rod 12 with a turn buckle 13, the latter being connected by the rod 11 with a slotted-arm 15 on the end ot the crank arm 16.
Referring now more particularly to Fig. L). it'will be seen that I have provided a frame consistingi of thelongitudinal mem# bers 1T md the cross strips 1S underneath the members 1T. The latter are formed of angle irons and are tapered at their ends as shown at 1Sx in Fig. S. These'cross strips servx a double purpose in that they form part of the frame and act as scrapers in a manner hereinafter ydescribed. When 'the strokeis reversed, however, it will ride up the inclined armv while the rod 23 at the right of the figure will ride underneath its arm 26. This imparts a rak-l ingfmotion' to the scrapers24 and' tends to constantly pull the lime and sulfur away. from the ends and toward the center. The other Scrapers merely move backward and forward along the bottom of the tank.
Thestroke of the scraping device may be varied in a numberof ways. fBy man1 ulating the turn buckle-13, yitis obvious t at the effective length of the' pitman which `connects the arm 15 with the rod l1 maybe lengthene'd or'shortened, thus varyin the stroke. The position of the scraping rame with respect to the arm 31 I may be varied by shifting the bolts 19 along the slotted cast'- ing 28. Moreover byl adjusting the distance between the bolts, the rod 11 may be moved -without necessarily moving the Scrapers.
l nThe pivoted raking members at each end of 'gitudinal members, a series o the scraper device may be adjusted by shift-- ing the uprights 19, which, as stated before,
4is accomplished by loosening the bolts 19,
and shifting the supports of the uprights 19.
4These adjustments permit of theA regulation sprayingl mixture with Aa minimum amount j of heat, since the cover y34 may be lowered to kee the heat within the tank. If, however, t e heat should rise too fast or too suddenly the vcover may be raised slightly to permit the heat to escape.

Ina mixin device, a tank, a reciprocating scra ing evice disposed within said tankv said evice comprising a pair (of lontransverse Scrapers secured to said longitudinal members, aframe pivotally secured to said scraping device at each end thereof, each of saidframes being rovided with 'a scraper and mmns carried by the side walls of sai tank for engaging each frame on its outward movemint to cause the raising of the latter.

In a mixin device, a tank, a reciprocating scraping evice disposed` within said tank, said device comprising Ia air of longitudinal members, a series o transverse Scrapers secured to said longitudinal members, a frame plvotally secured to said sera ing device at each end thereof, each of said frames being rovided with a scraper, and means carried y the sidewalls of said tank for engaging each frame on its outward movement to cause the raising'of the latter, the frame bein freed from the raising means :it the en of its outward movement 'to brin the scraper into engagement with materia inf the tank.
