When the structurefis to be used as a bed, lthe'seatframe is pushed out which swingsV ,down` the back` frame to' horizontal posiand the bars 21 in alinemcnt', the'links restfiat surface or bottom is formed which will not collapseunder weight. As above indi.
cated, a suitable fabric or other bottom will be stretched or placed on the top of the vseat frame, between the links 12, and on the back frame.
l The parts are preferably made of angleA ;iron,. forming'a light andcheap structure for the purpose stated. t I
Having thus describedmy invention, what I claimA as new and desire to seere by' Let-v ters Patent is:
4' 1. In a convertible bed and seat, the combination of a fixed frame, a back frame, p iyots connecting the ends of the back frame ,and the rear part 4of the fixed frame and ermitting the backframe to swing to ver-l ical orl horizontal position, -a seat.frame li'dablein and out at the front of the fixed j ame, xand ylinks pivoted 'at their opposite ends to the vlower end of the back frame and the inner end of the seat frame respectively.
2. In aconvertible bed and seat, the combination of 'a fixed frame having,r co'rner posts, a back Yframe pivoted between and directly to the rear corner posts to swing to vertical or horizontal position, the -pivots being located above the lower end of the back frame, a seat frame slidable in-an out etween the front posts, and links pivoted at'their opposite ends to the rear edge vof Vthe seat frame'and the lower ends of the back4 frame respectively.
3. In a convertible bed and seat, the com- `bination of a fixed frame 'having front and rear end posts and a connecting bar at each end between the front and rear posts5.said bur having inwardly projecting anges ,'a
back frame pivoted above the lower-edge thereof between. the rear posts and having projecting lugs'fa'anged to strike said connectin'g barjvhen'swung. to horizontal posit-ionLand aseat frame having Alegs at the front 'edgethereo said seat frame ,being movable in and ont between the front posts and adapted to rest on the ianges of the connecting `bars when .moved in, and pivoted links connecting the rear edge Aof the seat frame and the lower` edgevof the back frame. y
In testimony'whereof, I doaffix my signaturein presence of two witnesses.
