The present invention for its object the design of an aclj ustahle cheek pad which shall he free from the faults which have heretofore prevented the general adoption of some one of the numerous devices of this type. The faults which Worked against previous pads of this .kind are complexity and clumsiness of adjustment.

The function of my adjust-able pad is t adaptthe drop of the stock, meaning by this the rlifierence in elevation between the heightof the stool; and that of the barrel, to the various angles-With the earth at which the shooter must eiin.v While, shooting at any given elevation each shooter requires a certain degree of drop in order that his eye may instantly cover the sights when cheek is pressed against the stock.
