In the manufacture of boilers after this plan the" 4number oi' pieces is reduced, and, as each row of tubes forms a complete part, the required size of' a boiler can be readily obtained by increasing or diminishing `the number of rows. v

The box on the upper or lower row may either be made with the upper-or lower ends cast in solid, or by fastening suitable covers to the same.

The sides and top of the boiler or lire-roon1 are formed by brick-work, as represented in Figs.
