My'invention relates to fuses for ord.
nance; and the object of myinvention is to provide means for regulating the detonation of percussion caps or primers carried by a percussion plunger and controlling the explosion of the shell.
My invention comprises an adjustable firing pin movable to a plurality of positions, usually two, wherebyeither of a pair of percussion caps or primers may be exploded; both caps or primers communicating with flame passages leading to the shell burstin'g charge. Behind one of the primers or percussion caps a' delay powder grain -is-located, by which the ignition of the shell charge can be delayed.
'lhese'and other features of my invention are more fully described hereinafter, reference being had to the accompanying drawings forming part hereof, in which:

The percussion plunger carries two primers or percussion caps, aud t; the primer or percussion cap 3 being disposed in a passage in the plunger 1, which passage also contains a delay powder gram 6, while the other primer or percussion cap is disposed in apassage 5 without a delay powder rain. l. The combination with a shell, universal projectile, or the like, of a percussion plunger disposed in said shell, a plurality of per-v cussion caps carried by said plunger, and an adjustable firing pin carried by said shell.
