The annular space around the cream-@anis filled with the freezing-material, and the plate l properly placed iu the position shown in figs. 1 and 2. 1t will be seen that the square socket 2, fitting the bearing k,'the outside of which is also square, and the clutch s', fitting the slot in the upper` end of the shaft il, and the other mechanism connected as shown and described, motion being communicated to the apparatus by turning the crank 3, the bevel-gears e' andv the wheel 'or crank w will revolve, and, by means of the connecting-rods z z', cause the armsl p to oscillate, turning the cream-,cans partly around backward and forward, while the shaft d, the arms g, and dashers f are held stationary by the stationary pinion s.
