To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, CHARLES on QUILL- rnm'r, a citizen of the United States of America, residing in Amityville, in the county of Suffolk and State of New York, have invented certain new and-useful Improvements in Attachments for Waterspecification.

This invention relates to an improved attachment for water-closet seats by which a sheet of toilet paper is placed over the seat for use in public or semi-public places, the sheet being unrolled and provided with an opening corresponding to the opening of the seat and capable of being removed so as to supply a new covering sheet to the seat; and for this purpose the invention consists of a toilet paper attachment for water-closet seats, which comprises a suitably supported round mandrel at the rear of'the seat for supporting a roll of toilet paper corresponding to the width of theseat, and a square mandrel supported in brackets below the front edge of the seat and adapted for winding up the seat-covering toilet paper be tween each use of the toilet, the toilet paper having one end provided with a paper shell that is slipped over the round rear-mandrel ,of the seat and the other end of the paper being provided with a square shell which is applied on the square winding-up mandrel so as to permit the rolling up of the seatcovering paper on the front mandrel or shaft and the unwinding of the same from the rear roller, the square front mandrel being provided with a knurled hand-wheel or button for turning the same and with means for locking the mandrel to the bracket at the outer end vof the roll, as will be fully described hereinafter and finally In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 represents a perspective view-of a water closet with my lmproved covering toilet paper attachment for the seat; Fig: 2 is a vertical longitudinal section of the same, showing the cover in open position; Fig. 3 is a plan-view of Fig. 1; Fig. dis a vertical used with attachment; Fig. 5 is a detailed section of the locking-device between the shaft or mandrel and the bracket at the 6 and 7 are sectional views taken respectively on the lines 6-6 and 7-7 of Fig. 5; Similarletters of reference indicate corresponding parts throughout the different figuresof the drawings. a Referring to the drawings, a represents the bowl ofthe water-closettoilet, b the seat which ishinged to the rear portion of the bowl, and c is the cover which is hinged to the rear end of the seat. A number of toilet paper-rolls are supplied at the same time, one being attached to the rear mandrel and passed over the seat withthe first section in position thereon upon which the square shell at the outer end of the roll is placed in position on the square front mandrel so as to form the front roller on which the paper is gradually wound up as the same is consumedby use. 1. A toilet paper attachment'for watercloset seats, comprising brackets at the rearend of the seat, a rear-mandrel supported by-said brackets and adapted to receive a roll. of toilet-paper, brackets at the .underside of the front part of the seat, a frontmandrel supported by said front-brackets, means for applying the front end of the roll to the front-mandrel, a button for turning the front-mandrel, means for locking the button to one of the front-brackets, and means for releasing the button therefrom for connecting a new roll to the front-mandrel.

2. A toilet paper attachment for watercloset seats, comprising brackets at the rearend of the seat, a rear-mandrel supported by said brackets and adapted to receive a roll of toilet-paper, brackets attached to vthe underside of the front part of the seat, one

of said brackets having recesses at diametrically opposite points, a front-mandrel supported in said front-brackets, means for applying the front-end of said roll to the frontmandrel, a button attached to the frontmandrel for turning the same and feeding the toilet-paper over the seat, a sleeve on the shank of the button provided with screw-studs at diametrical points for interlocking with the recesses of the adjacent bracket and for turning the same and placing it into locking or releasing position with the bracket.
