. GAME APPARATUS.
` Speolcation of Letters Patent. Application med. November 2o, 1911. `serial no. 661,200.
Patenten June 4,' 1912.
To all whom ,it may concern: I f.. f
Be it known that -I,JULIUs D. Hmseu,
. a citizen of theUnited States, and a resiy Fig. 2 illustrates in detail one of the tickets' dent of Savannah, in the county of. Chatham and State of Georgia, have r invented certain new and useful Improvements in Game Apparatus, of which the following is a specification.
This invention is an improvement 1n game apparat-us and has for an object to provide a. game wherein the element of chance will be largelyy involved and in which will be provided means whereby the player may indicate a number or series of numbers which he selects as probablyfoccurring upon the series of number of a particular ticket; and the invention consists in certain novel constructions and combinations of parts as will be hereinafter described and claimed.
In the drawing Figure 1 is a face view of an apparatus embodyingv my invention.
in which the body portion of theticket and the numbered slip are made separate and pasted together. Fig. 3 illustrates a ticket in which thebody portion and the numbered slip are integral.
, By my invention, I provide an apparatus comprising a table whereon are provided, what for convenience of reference, I term ticket spaces and indicating spaces adjacent to and corresponding with their respective ticket spaces. In connection with the table I employ tickets,.one for eachticket space `and these tickets are adhesively attached over the respective ticket spaces and `have each an under folded numbered slip containing a series of numbers. These tickets are-designated,preferably by numbers, correspondingly with their respective ticket spaces and I also correspondinglywdesignate the ticket spaces and their .l respective indicating spaces. The tickets are provided with numbers, twelve to each ticket, the numbers ranging from 1 to 7 8 in the particular illustration shown, and the series of 12 numbers on any one ticket are not duplicated on any other ticket. I do not mean by this the number 1 or the number 78 or'any intermediate number does not appear on any two tickets, but -I mean to be understood that the particular combination of figures appearing on any one ticket is not duplicated on any other ticket, 4the series being worked out by combinations in order to avoid duplications of series.
In the construction shown, the table A has the ticket spaces B and the indicating spaces Q adjacent thereto and the corresponding ticket spaces and indicating s aces` bear the same number, this being t e preferable" designation. Thus the first ticket space may be numbered 1 and the indicating space immediately below said ticket space numbered 1 will also be numbered, 1 and the ticket D applied to the space 1 will also be numbered 1 so that the ticket space, its respective indi- -cating space and the ticket for ap lication tothe said ticket' space will all vear the same designation, this, for convenience, being preferably a number as shown. The second ticket -space andits-respectiveindicat-invr spacel and the ticket for application Ato said .second ticket space will be num-- bered 2 and so on throughout the series of ticket spaces and corresponding designating spaces of which any .suitable numberfmay be provided' on the table. I have shown the table as provided with v120 ticket spaces, but manifestly this may be varied as desired.
The tickets D may be made with a body portion D and a numbered slip D2 pasted or otherwise secured thereto as shown in Fig. 2 and this y.may be preferred for convenience or it may be desired in some instances tov cut the body portion D and the numbered slip l)2A in one piece as shown in -Fig.'3 of the drawing. Asy shown and preferred, a series of 12 numbers is provided on each ticket slip and this ticket slip is folded under when the ticket is applied to its space B, the ends or Wings of the body portion D projecting' laterally so that t-hey'may be adhesively secured to the table A in such manner asto holdutlie Yfolded ticket slip fiat against the table so itsnumbers cannot be inspected until the .ticket is torn from kthe table by the player who selects such particular ticket in .playing the game.
In practice, the player may choose 1, 2.
3 ormore numbers, his guess being that the number or series fof numbers which he which he may select. 'After choosin his numbers and select-ing his ticket and writing his chosen numbers in the pro er space immediately below his selecte ticket, the player may tear the ticket from .the table an open the numbered slip and determine whether the articular number or series of numbers he as chosen a pears in the list of numbers on his selecte ticket.' If so, he is entitled to the prize which may be agreed upon in any particular instance. In the particular illustration shown, the pla er' may buy a ticket for five cents and may t en elect to choose one number or two numbers o'r three numbers or other numbers upon a articular ticket. If he chooses three num ers and these numbers appear on the ticket he selects, he will be entitled to ive dollars worth of merchandise without further payment. If he chooses two numbers and'these two numbers appear 'on the ticket he selects,y
he will be entitled toA seventy-live cents worth of merchandise without further payment and if he chooses a single number and it is on the ticket he selects, he will be entitled to` 15 cents worth of merchandise without further charge. Manifestly the game may be played for other prizes and various combinations may be layed as desired. Thus it may be decided or the player to choose four numbers and then if rany three of-these numbers or all of these numbers appear on the ticket he selectsfhe will be entitled 4,to a prize or prizes as agreed. Of course, with such a combination, the player should be required to pay a greater sum or penalty as his chance o winning is increased 4- accordingly. 1 It will be understood that various 'other combinations v and ways of playing the particular game above described,
may be devised and other games may be.
played with the apparatus without Ainvolvmg a departure from the broad principles of. my invention.
To prevent a player from taking a ticket previously 4used on one table and by sleight of hand or other trick substituting it for a ticket which he may take olf the table being played, I prefer to distinguish or identify thetickets applied to any particular table with such table-and this may be done Ly.
means of a class designation, such as Glass A .shown at E on the table and Class A shown at E' on the ticket so that each ticket .will be identified with the particular .table to which itis connected in' the first instance.
1. A game apparatus, substantially as herein described, comprising a table having ticket spaces and lindicating spaces adjacent to and corresponding with their res cctive ticket spaces', tickets detachably attac ed to their respective ticket s aces and having under folded numbered s ips containing a series of numbers, the said tickets and the indicating spaces corresponding to the ticket spaces of sald tickets being correspondingly designated, substantially as and for the purposes set forth.
2. A game apparatus comprising a table having spaces and a series of tickets detachably secured to the table and corresponding to their respective indicating s aces of the table, the sald spaces and tickets eing correspondingly designated.'
3. A rame apparatus comprising a table` having esignated spaces adapted to receive numbers chosen by a player, and tickets detachably connected with the table and corres ending to said designated spaces and suitaby desi nated .whereby ythey may be identified 'wit their respective spaces, said ticketshavin series of numbers concealed when the tic et is in connection with the table. '4. In a game apparatus, a table having ticket spaces adapted to receive a ticket, spaces for designations adjacent to their respective ticket spaces and tickets detachably applied to their respective ticket spaces, the t1c ets and their respective designation space being correspondingly designated.
5. In a game apparatus, a ticket having lateral wings and a numbered slip foldable between said wings. f
