To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, SIMON DE GAMARA STONE, a citizen of Portugal, residing at Somerville, in the county of Middlesex and State of Massachusetts, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Trolleys, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to improvements in trolleys, and has for one of its objects the provision of means for replacing the trolley on the wire when the same has become displaced.
Another object is to provide a means to assist in replacing the trolley on the wire.
These and others willbe apparent from the following description.

Referring to the drawings 10 represents the pole of a trolley, and 11 the harp, having the vertical side members 12, provided with openings 13 for the passage therethrough of the shaft or pin 14, on which is rotatably mounted the trolley wheel 15 which may be of ordinary construction. Formed integrally with the harp, and extending in parallel spaced relation with each other, and with the vertical members 12, are the vertical members 16, between which the trolley wheel is adapted to rotate, the members 16 having openings similar to the ones in the members 12, to permit the shaft 14 to pass therethrough.
In the spaces on either side of the trolley wheel, and between the members 16 and 12, are arranged the disks 17 which are eccentrically mounted on the shaft 14. Each of these disks 17 has a circumferentially arranged V-shaped groove 18, which begins at a point in the circumference of the disk about the center, and extends at an inclination toward the inner side face of the disk, in the direction of the trolley wheel. These grooves are wider at their beginning, and taper toward the side face of the disk.
Referring particularly to Fig. 4 it will be seen that the vertical members 16' are formed integrally with a connecting horizontal portion 11, which is adapted to be secured by means of fastening bolts or screws 19 to the elevated portion 20 of the harp. When the members 16' become worn the same may be readily removed, and new ones quickly and easily placed thereon. The elevation 20 of the harp, provides the depression 21 on either side thereof, to accommodate the eccentrically mounted disks 17 when their heavier portions are below the shaft.
From the foregoing it will thus be seen that the device is simple, and extremely compact, and it may be readily taken apart and repaired in a short space of time, and at small expense.
What is claimed is:
1. The combination with a trolley harp having vertical supports provided with shaft openings, supplemental perforated supports between the first mentioned supports, said supplemental supports being spaced at equal distances from each other and from the side supports, a trolley wheel mounted between supplemental supports, and eccentrically mounted grooved disks between the supplemental supports and the first named supports, said disks having tapering circumferential grooves for guiding a trolley wire on to the trolley wheel, said supplemental supports adapted to form compartments for the trolley wheel and each of the disks, whereby to prevent the frictional engagement of said wheel with said disks.
