CORN-PLASTER.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Application led December 7, 1911.
Patented May 21, 1912.
Serial No. 664,357.
To all whom-'Zt may concern:
Be it known that I, JOHN M. BRANDEN- BURG, a citizen of the United States, residing at Elgin, in the county of Kane and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Corn-Blasters, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to plasters designed to be bound on the toe foi the removal of corns.
The object of the invention is to obtain a device which can be easily applied, which will not be injured while in the custody of the user before it is applied, and which is simple in construction.
yIn the drawing Figure 1 is a plan view of a device embodying the invention, showing one side thereof, and Fig. 2 is a plan view showing the other side thereof. Fig. 3 is a plan vlew of a shield forming an element of the device. Fig. 4 is an edge or side view of the shield shown in Fig. 3. Fig. 5' is an edge or side view of a plaster forming an element of the device and Fig. 6 is a plan view of said plaster. Fig. 7 is a plan view of a binding strip forming an element of the device.
Similar letters refer to similar parts throughout the several views.
A is a protecting sheet.
B is a shield provided with aperture b.
C is a binding strip which is coated with adhesive material on one side thereof.
D is a plaster made of :flexible material d, covered on one side thereof with medicated material d.
The several parts are assembled in the following manner. The plaster D is placed on the protecting sheet A with the medicated material thereon in contact with but not adhering to said protecting sheet. The shield B is then placed over the medicated plaster D and on the protecting sheet A. The binding strip C is then placed on the shield and protecting sheet A and made to adhere to the shield but not to the protecting sheet. The binding strip C extends from end to end of the protecting sheet A and the medicated plaster D and shield B are positioned substantially in the center of said protecting sheet.
The aperture b in shield B is substantially the size of the top of the corn which is to be removed, its purpose being to relieve the corn from pressure While the device is in place thereover.
I claim A corn plaster comprising a binding strip of uniform width and having adhesive material on one side thereof throughout its length, a shield fixed to the adhesive side of said strip midway of the ends thereof, said shield provided with an opening, and a medicated plaster consisting of iexible Inaterial having medicament on one side thereof on said shield and overlapping the edge of said aperture, in combination with a removable protecting sheet covering the adhesive side of the binding strip and the medicated side of the plaster.
