The frame of the alarm consists of a plate 1 which is formed preferably from I sheet metal and which is bounded about its edge with astifiening corrugation 2. Thelower portion of the arm 13 is slitted longitudinallyformingv three fingers 19 which are-bowed outwardly at their intermediate portions and which are disposed from each other at their lower ends. A ball float 20 is sustained between the fingers 19.
The device as above described is applied to a fixed part of a refrigerator and the ball 203s permitted to hang in the upper portion of the pan thereof. "When the water in the pan attains a certainlevel and comes in con- 15 thereof is brought in contact with the lug 7. Thus 1 an electric circuit is completed through the buzzer and battery and frame and their connecting parts, and the wire 18 and the arm 13 and the buzzer is excited and gives outan alarm. As soon asthe pan is removed from under the ball 20 the said ball falls by gravity and the arm 13 is swung so tact with the ball 20 the said ball is elevated, whereby the arm 13 is swung and the fingerthat its finger 15 is carried away from the lug 7 and the circuit is broken and the buzzer ceases .to sound. The arm 13 possesses .suflicient resiliency to permitthe ball 20 to slide freely over the edge of the pan as the pan is inserted under the alarm or withdrawn from under the same.
The parts are compactly assembled and may be readily applied to any known form of refrigerator or similar apparatus, and
when the battery becomesexhausted it may be read ly slipped from between the lugs 3 and 'a new one substituted inits stead.

An electric alarm comprising a frame having a battery and a buzzer located thereon, an electric connection between the bat-- tery and buzzer, an electric connection between the battery and frame, an arm hing- I edly mounted upon the frame and insulated ing provided atits lower end with longitudinally disposed slits forming fingers which are bowed at their intermediate portions awayfrom each other and which are disposed-toward each other at their lower ends,
and a ball float detachably received bet-weenthe last mentioned fingers.
2. An electric alarm comprising a frame having a battery and buzzer mounted thereon, an electric connection between the batter'y antl buzzer, an electric connection be tween the battery and the'frame, an arm hingedly mounted upon the frame and insulated therefrom, said arm being formed from a strip of sheet material, a portion of the material of which the arm is formed be ing struck up into a finger adapted to encounter'the frame at times, a second finger formed up from-the arm and a wire connecting the-lastmentioned finger with the buzzer, the strip of which the arm is formed having at its lower end longitudinally disposed slits forming three fingers which are bowed from each other at their intermediate portions and which are-disposed toward each other at their lower ends, a ball inserted between the last mentioned fingers, the said arm haring'sutficient resiliency to permit the said ball to be brushed to one side or the a other as a pan. is inserted under the same or removed from under the same.
