My invention relates to bag holders, and the object of the invention is to provide a simply constructed, durable and easily opk erated holder which will eifectively hold a bag with the mouth thereof properly open for filling purposes when desired, such device being easily manipulated and adjustable to various heights and kinds of bags.
It consists essentially in a set of legs suitably reinforced, telescoping members carried by the legs, s'wingable grippin vices supported by the said legs anda ever for swinging the gripping devices, the parts being arranged and constructed as herein after more particularly described and claimed. J
Figure 1 is a front elevation of thebag holder in the position ready to receive a bag. Fig. 2 is aplan view of the device in the position shown in Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is a plan view of the bag holder with the parts in the position which they occupy when supporting the bag, a modified form being employed. Fig. 4! is a plan view of one of the grips. In the drawing like I Bars 18 and 19 e. tend rearwardly from the said arms and are connected through links 20 and 21 with the enlarged end ofa lever 22, the lever being on a stub shaft 23 passing backunites the rod 8 with a cross rod 25 which closes the to. The links 20 and 21 are each provided with a turn buckle 21' so that the length of the link can be adjusted. A weight 26 is secured to the lever.
As soon as the bag has been placed with the hand over the loops as already described, the lever is swung to the position shown in arm back to the original position.

What I claim as my invention is:
1. The combination ,with an adjustable supporting member, of a set of similar arms pivotally secured to the supporting member and swingable toward and away from each other, gripping members carried by the arms and by the supporting member, such latter gripping members being located in a higher horizontalplane than the former, bars extending rearwardly from the arms, a pivotally mounted lever carried by the supporting member, links connecting the lever With the respective bars, and an adjustable weight carried by the lever, as and for the. purpose specified.
2. A bag holder comprising a set of similar opposing legs suitably interconnected at the bottom, an adjustable supporting mom ber carried by the legs and telescoping into the upper ends thereof, opposing arms pivot-ally secured 130 the supportingmember and-swingableto'ward and awayfrom each other, removable gripping jaws secured to the arms and to the supporting member in pairs, bars extending rearwardly from the arms, a stub shaft located centrallyof the supporting member, a lover pivoted on the stub shaft, links connecting the lever with the extending ends of the arms, and a Weight Y adjustably secured to the lever, thepurpose specified.
