- This invention relates to sinkers, and has for an object to provide a body member of malleable metal constructed throughout to form a plurality of integrally connected elements, the connecting portions of the elements being considerably reduced and weakened sufiiciently to provide for the convenient separation of the elements.

SINKER.
' To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ZYGMUNT PANCOAST, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented new and useful Improvements in Sinkers, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to sinkers, and has for an object to provide a body member of malleable metal constructed throughout to form a plurality of integrally connected elements, the connecting portions of the elements being considerably reduced and weakened sufiiciently to provide for the convenient separation of the elements.
Another object of the invention is to provide as a new article of manufacture, the body member hereinabove referred to constructed so that one or any suitable number of the separable sections of the body member can be removed according to the weight of the sinker desired.
Another object of the invention is to split the said body member throughout so as to form a line groove in each element so as to provide the operator to clench the same to the line in a most eflicient manner.
In the drawing, forming a portion of this specification and in which like numerals of reference indicate similar parts in the several views :Figure 1 is a side elevation of the body member. Fig. 2 is a transverse section therethrough. Fig. 3 is a detail section showing one of the elements clenched to a line.
In the preferred form of my invention, the body member 1 is of a tapered construction and it is pressed throughout to form elements or sinkers 2, each of which being of a different size. Each sinker or element Specification of Letters Patent.

From the construction of the body member 1 it will be seen that a variety of different forms of sinkers are connected with each other in a manner that will permit the user to readily detach one or more of them as the occasion may require. On reference to Fig. 3 of the drawing, it will be seen that after the desired sinker element has been removed from the body member it may be clenched to the line by pressing the sides together and in close confinement with the line I claim.
1. As a new article of manufacture, a sinker constructed from a single piece of met-a1 of an increasing diameter from one end to the other and formed throughout to provide separable portions which may beused as individual weight units.
2. As a new article of manufacture, a sinker constructed from a single piece of metal of an increasing diameter from one end to the other and formed throughout to provide separable portions which may be used as individual weight units, the said metal having a continuous line kerf therein to permit of the engagement of the line therein and also provided whereby to permit the walls of the kerf of each weight unit to be compressed against the line to hold the weight unit against movement thereon.
