HANGER FOR FALSE WORK.

' To all whom 'it may concern:
Be it known that I, ALBERT ARNN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Little Ferry, in the county of Bergen and State of New Jersey, have invented new and useful Improvements in Hangers for False Work, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to hangers for false work used in molding concrete ceilings and walls and consists of certain simple and cheap means for supporting horizontal timbers which carry the mold work and can be readily removed, in order to reduce the woodwork after the molding has been completed, as will be more fully described in the following specification, set forth in the claim and illustrated in the drawings, where:
Figure 1 is a perspective view of the hanger. Fig. 2 is a sectional view through a floor and ceiling showing the use of the hanger. Figs. 3 and 1 are views of modified constructions.
In the construction of concrete fioors and ceilings, it is necessary to supply molds around the beams and between same in order to provide means for supporting the concrete in its moist state.
In carrying out this method of construction small horizontal beams 5 are suspended between the metal beams 6 and on top of the beams 5 are placed boards 7 and suspended from the latter beams is a boxing 8 surrounding the beams 6 to carry the concrete to be molded therein. The boxing 8 may be nailed together or carried by the beams 5 by means of immediate assembling or removal of the parts and in order to support this structure, the hanger 10 is provided and which consists of a wire frame having the middle member 11 which at each end is turned into a loop 12 dropped at any desired angle below the plane of the portion 11 and the horizontal ends 13. The beams 5 are fitted into the loops 12 and in order to securely hold the hanger in place on the steel beam, each end 13 is provided with a hook 14 adapted to fit beneath the flange of the beam where it may be relied upon to remain and retain one of the smaller beams at each side of the steel beam 6. molding has been completed and the concrete is set, the loops 12 may be cut close to the boxing 8 and the small beams 5 removed which will also permit of the removal of the boards 7 and the boxing 8 leaving the concrete work finished.
The modified form shown in Fig. 3-consists of a sheet metal plate 15 which is adapted to lie upon the upper face of the steel beam while the ends 16 are bent downward at an angle and are provided with perforations 17 into which the cross pieces 5 may be located. At-each side of this hanger is cut spurs 18 to engage the underside of the flange of the beam and prevent the displacement of the hanger. When the work is completed, the depending ends 16 are cut away fresh with the surface of-the finished concrete and the false work may then be removed.
In the modified form shown in Fig. 4-, a sheet metal hanger 19 is provided and has at each end an opening 20 into which the cross beams may be located and quickly removed when desired. Spurs 21 are also cut from this hanger and are adapted to fit beneath the flange of the steel beam as above described.
It is obvious that other forms of this hanger may be adopted and modifications made, without departing from the essential features above described.
In the modified hanger the recess 18 formed by cut-ting out the spurs 18 may also be utilized to carry reinforcing cross pieces to support the molding boards.
What I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
In a hanger for concrete molds, the combination with a wire frame comprising three horizontal members, of depending loops each connecting the middle member with one of the side members, and hooks at the end of each side member adapted to engage the beam to prevent the dislocation of the hanger.
