This invention relates to an improved auxiliar)I locking means designed especially for use in connection withjzhe ordinary locking mechanism of. safes o r` vaults, and 'of the -typefsetvfortli inthe" application filed by Arthui" E. Anakin, on'August 25, 1911', Serial 'Number'654,964.
The-auxiliary locking means hereinafter more `:fully described has been devised with a View of simplifying the same to the greatest 'extent 'possible in the use of a minimum` uimberof parts, each of which is constructedsQ as to be readily manufactured at a nominal Y cost.

From the foregoing, it will b e apparent that the locking member is adapted for interchangeable mounting 'of the member 1 to operate in' a plane at vsubstantially a right angle to that of the arm 11, or in aplane parallel with the arm 11, according to whether a. vertical' or horizontalmovernent of the locking bolt is re uired or desired.'l The adjustment of the loc 'ng member 5 is a proper position for actuation by the connection 7-that coperates with the mainlocking mechanism of the safe. One end of the spring 3 bears against a' plug 17, or other stop at the free extremity of the supporting member 1. l
