IMPROVEMENT IN PRINTERS FURNITURE.

The object of this invention is to enable a pressman to make changes in a form of type without loss of Atime or. danger of error, or possibility of accident.
It consists (tig. 3.) of two -blocks ofthe shape usually given, little bellows on the under side of electrotype or stereotype-blocks, (tig. 2,) but made a. little smaller, the said two blocks being attached at one or both ends to a strip or strips of metal rule or reglet, so as to keep them separated the proper distance and forni a solid abutment.
After this stereotype or velectrotype block bridge is locked up in a form of type, a set of blocks (iig. 1) for names of headings or other purposes, Iliade a very little smaller than the open space, may be successively inserted and withdrawn without hindrance to the work.
The utility of this invention consists in the. rapidity and ease with which changes may be made in forms oi type, the impossibility of its being inserted out o1 place, and the avoidance of the type working loose through repeated locking and unlocking of forms, as the changes are made without such locking and unlocking- What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Pat ent. is-
