Description

W. G. PEUGH.
DISPLAY RACK.
APPLICATION FILED 1330.16, mu.

I I 61mm;
Wiimzooeo UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
WILLIAM G. PEUGH, OF ABERDEEN, MISSISSIPPI.
DISPLAY-RACK.
To all whom "it may concern:
Be it known that I, WILLIAM Gr. PEUGI-I, a citizen of the United States, residing at Aberdeen, in the county of Monroe and State of Mississippi, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Display- Racks, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to devices for displaying curtains, rugs, draperies and the like, consisting of overhead tracks having trolleys mounted thereon to support the articles to be displayed, and has for its object the provision of improved means for supporting the articles on the trolleys by which one article may be instantaneously removed from the rack and another replaced thereon, and that is so constructed that the necessity of draping the articles on the rack is dispensed with, the draping being done away from the rack and the article placed in a draped condition on the rack.
My invention will be described in detail hereinafter and illustrated on the accompanying drawings in which Figure 1 is a side view of my improved display rack, Fig. 2, a detail View of one of the hangers and supporting devlces, and Fig. 3, a view of a hanger detached from its supports.
In the drawings similar reference characters will be used to designate corresponding parts in the several views.
A indicates a grid of tracks that may be supported in any manner but preferably from the ceiling of the salesroom by means of brackets B, any desired structure of tracks and brackets being adapted to be used, as this part of the rack is not a part of my invention. Mounted on tracks A are supporting members 1 comprising frames 2 having trolleys 3 journaled therein and that run on tracks A.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Application filed December 16, 1911.
Patented Mar. 12, 1912.
Serial No. 666,107.
4 indicates circular plates secured in the lower ends of frames 2 by means of bolts or rivets 5. The hanging members consist of rods 6 having their ends formed with hooks 7, that engage the plates when in position.
8 indicates a hand pull secured to one of the supporting members 1 on each track to enable the salesman to move the article to be displayed, said hand pull formed of any suitable material such as a rope or chain or a metal or wooden rod, and secured in any suitable manner to the supporting member.
By the use of my improvements it will be apparent that the article to be displayed may be secured upon a rod 6 while detached from the supporting members and then quickly placed in position on the rack, and if it is to replace another article already in position on the rack the substitution can be effected practically instantaneously, and the delay required to drape the article on the rack, as at present constructed, entirely dispensed with.
Having thus described my invention what I claim is- A display rack comprising a grid of tracks, supporting members mounted on each track, each supporting member consisting of a frame having a trolley ournaled therein and mounted on the track, a circular plate secured in the lower end of said frame, and a rod adapted to support an article for display having its ends formed with hooks removably engaging the plates in the frames of two supporting members mounted on a single track.
In testimony whereof I hereto aflix my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
WILLIAM G. PEUGI-I.
