This invent-ion relates lto the subject of casings for electrical lamp sockets, and has particularly 1n v1ew an 1mproved means for fitting the cap of the socket casing with a permanent vinsulating lining that will effectually and satisfactorily fulfil all 0f the requirements `of the National Board of Fire Underwriters.
Heretofore various expedients have been v volved 'fastening projections or elements of various kinds formedI integrally or otherwise with the sheet metal cap, or with the shellpart of the casing. In some forms of lining fastenings the resiliency of the insulating lining has been depended upon to effect a lockingaction, while in other forms `of construction effort has been made to -permanently secure' a rigid lining in place by suitable fastening elements. v
