This invention relates to an improvement inthe arm known as the needle-gnn, and consists in the arrangement of the mainspring within the lever which A is the rear end of the barrel, formed to receive the cartridge-shell, and extending back to form a guide -for the combined lock and the movable breech secured to the wood stock bya screw through the tail-piece B. G is the movable breech, through which the har'nf mer or needle d extends, the needle being formed or made a part ofthe head D, also forming a spindle, f, around which is arranged a cylinder, n, to which a handle or lever, E, is 'ixed,to turn the said cylinder on the spindle f, and also to serve as a means for draw ing the breech back as denoted in broken lines, grl..

The breech is cut away so that the said handle E 'may be turned down, as denotedin broken lines, ig. 2.

Within the handle E is arranged the mainspring a, supported in the handle, and working in an annular groove, m, in the spindle f, so that, in whatever position the said handle stands, the spring will bear upon the spindle.

F is the trigger and G the scar, formed as part of a spring, g, underneath the barrel.

I claim as my invention The combination of tlxemovable breech C and llammer D, constructed with the spindle f and needle d, with the oam'cylinder 'n and handle E, inclosing the mainspring a, and trigger F, and scar G, the whole constructed and arranged t-o operate in the manner described.
