IRONING-BOARD.
Specificationof Letters latent.
Patented Feb. 6, 1912.
Application filed July 6, 1909. Serial No. 506,190.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ERNST FRITZ PFUND, a subject of the King of Saxony, residing at Leipzig-Eutritzsch, Saxony, Germany, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Ironing-Boards, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to an ironing board which is composed of a support and the board proper, said board being fixed to the support so that it can be easily removed and replaced by another board.
In the accompanying drawings the improved ironing board is shown, by way of example.
Figure 1 represents a vertical section through the support and board, the two parts being separated. Figs. 2 and 3 are plan views of the ironing boards proper, said boards being shown in two forms. Fig. 4 is a side elevation of the support and board, parts being broken away. Fig. 5 is an inverted plan View showing one end of a board. Fig. 6 is a cross sectional view .of the board. Fig. 7 is a View of the board in end elevation. Fig. 8 is a side elevation of the board, one end being broken away. Fig. 9 is a vertical section of a portion of the support.
The improved ironing board consists of the support a and an ironing board proper b which is removably secured to said support. In the upper surface of the support a there is provided a vertical slot or cavity in which a spring bolt 0 is located and further a vertical slot d from the lower end of which a horizontal boring extends the outer end of the support, said horizontal boring permitting the introduction of a locking pin 6.
Upon the lower surface of the ironing of the board. The lug d is made of band.
iron.
I claim An improved ironing board comprising in combination the ironing board proper which is of any convenient form, an eye projecting from the lower surface of said board and a vertical lug of band iron having a hole in its lower end also projecting from the lower surface of said board and a support having a cavity for the reception of the said eye and a vertical slot extending downwardly from its upper surface, said slot be ing designed to receive the lug vertically projecting from the board a horizontal boring extending from the lower end of said vertical slot to the outer surface of the support, a spring bolt in said cavity which engages with said eye of the board and a pin in said horizontal boring which enters the hole of the vertical lug, substantially as de scribed and shown and for the purpose set forth.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand in the presence of two witnesses.
ERNST FRITZ PFUND.
