In the lower part of the case is located the parts and mechthe operative double slide button 23 that projects out of the till. The front of this till projects out slightly in -front of the front plate 9 and is provided in its top edge with suitably shaped coin slots 24, through which the coins arepassed to the pockets 25 of the before mentioned double'slide 22. A spring 26 having one end seated in a pocket of the slide and the other end upon a pin 2 secured to a bridge piece 3S, serves tonormally hold the slide in its outer position beneaththe before mentioned slots 24. The push button of this slide is located central of the slide while the ysaid coin pockets 25 are located one ineach end portion. This forward movement of the weight causes its forwardly extended lower edge 37 to be projected between the ledge containing the coin slots andthe slide having the coin pockets, which obviously closes the coin passage and prevents the insertion of another coin when the machine is emptied.

Having thus we claim, and desire to secure by vLetters Patent is l. In a c'oin actuated vending machine, the combination ofa case containing a pack movable slide having a c-om pocket to register with the coin slot in the case, a weight arranged upon the package while in the compartment and having a forwardly dis-- posed transverse edge, and means for causing the said weight to move forward and its said transverse edge to be projected between the coin slot'and coin pocket to close the passage from one to the other after the last package has been discharged.

2. In a coin actuated vending machine, the combination of a case containing apackage compartment with longitudinal grooves in its side wall, a coin slot in the case, a movable slide having a coin pocket to register with the coin slot in the case, a vertically slidable weight loosely arranged upon the packages while in the compartment and having fins to slide in the grooves of the side wall and means for causing the said weight to be moved forwardtbetween the` coin slotand the coin pocket after the last package has been discharged..
