This invention relates to improvements in:

rack holders and more particularly .to rack holders adapted to housed in fasteninglongitudinal and transverse strips within a box which serve as partitions to separate articles placed within .thebox.

A further object of the invention 1s to provide a rack holder formed of an integral plece of metal shaped to be easily driven;

with they "depending wings engaging the sides of the strips and the pointed end of each holder is then driven into the end of the box up to the shoulder of the holder. The shoulder forms a convenient place for striking with a hammer in driving and when in final position the shouldered portion, the body portion and the depending parts are approximately flush with the parts they respectively engage. In driving the holder to its final position the body portion and the depending Wings will slide along the upper edge and sides of the rack strip. As the longitudinal strips extend on top of the transverse strips, it is only necessary to fasten the ends of the longitudinal strips to securely hold the whole rack in the box. The modified form of holders are used in the same manner as the principal form with the exception that the edges of the upstanding wings serve as the shoulders and the pointed end is driven partly at right angles with relation to the grain of the wood.

From the foregoing description it will be seen that the holder is very simple in construction and inexpensive to manufacture and is easily connected to boxes.

What I claim as my invention is:

In combination with a box provided with rack strips positioned to form pockets, of a rack holder comprising approximately a V-shaped piece of sheet metal with the pointed end portion thereof bent upwardly and forwardly with a double bend to form a shoulder extending at right angles with relation to the body portion and a pointed end portion extending forwardly from the upper edge of the shoulder and with the side edges of the body portion bent downwardly atright angles to the body portion to form rack strip engaging wings, said body portion adapted to be placed on top of the upper edge of one of the rack strips with the wings engaging and extending on each side thereof and with the pointed end portion driven into one of the walls of said box to hold said rack strip within the box.
