IMPROVEMENT IN SAW-FRAME.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.
To all whom it may concern y Beit known that I, CHARLES MAJER, of Williamsburg, in the county of Kings and State of New York,
This invention relates to a. new bracing-mechanism for hucksaws, and consists inthe application to the saw-flame of two V-shaped bracing-trames, which are at the junction of their arms pivoted together, to be thereby made adjustable, as hereinafter more fully described.
Ain the drawing represents the saw, secured at its ends to the side-bars B B of the saw-frame.
The upper ends of these bars B can be drawn more or less close together, by means of a cord or'screwrod, C.
l) E are two V-shapcd frames, made of wood, metal, or other suitable material. Y
Their inner ends are tenoned and tted into mortises of the bars B B, while at the junctions of their arms they are pivoted together by a pin, a, as shown.
NVhen the cord or rod C is shortened, the upper arms b c of the frames DE will be swung up, to be brought more in line with the respective lower arms d e of the same.
The arms b (l and c e constitute, therefore, a pair of diagonal braces, by which the saw will be properly `strained and steadied.
