To all wwm 'it may concern Be it. mown that I, @Hannes KUnNnoLnr, a citizen of the United States, and resident of Milwaukee, in the county oi Milwaukee and State of Wisconsin, have invented certain new and use-ful Improvements in Burner-Shade Supports; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof.

'Ihe object of my invention is to provide a simple, economical and edective adjustable pendant shield support for burners, the same being so constructed and arranged as to be capable of irictionallyl engaging either a `vertical or horizontal gas supply pipe.

In the' drawings Figurl represents a v side elevation of a gas fixture provided with a pair of pendant shield supports embodying the features of my invention; Fig. 2, an enlarged detailed view of one of the supports with a shield attached, a portion of the support being broken away to show certain structural features; Fig., 3, a detailed plan view of a portion of the support with'parts` broken away and in section, and Fig. 4, a cross-section of the same, the section beingindicated byline 4-4 of Fig. 2.

Referring by characters to the drawings, 1 represents a sleeve which is preferably rectangular in cross-section, the inner end of the sleeve being fitted with the shank portions of a pair of forked spring-clips-2, 2, the said shank portions thereof being riveted or otherwise secured in place and of such thickness as to fill and form a closure for the end of said sleeve. An elbow bracket 3 havingl one arm 3', is fitted in the sleeve and adapted to have telescopic union therewith, the upper edge o the arm bein provided with notches or corrugations 4 or 1ocki`n engagement with a spring tongue 5, which7 tongue is secured to the sleeve, its free end being projected forwardly thereof Y and adapted to lmpinge against the corrugated face of the arm, whereby the latter is held in its adjusted position relative to the-afore' said sleeve. The other arm 3 of the elbow bracket is suitably apertured for the reception of a series off'l'inks 6, which links in turn are connected lto the central -portion of light xture and will' be as vented from slipping by the rictional vuponsaid pipe, Y put upon the upper and lower forked men'l-y a circular pendant shield 7. The arm 3 of the bracket is of such length that when the pendant shield assumes a position at a right angle to' the sleeve it will clear the same. Thus it will be understood .by referring, to Fig. l oit the drawings that the shield support can either adjusted to avertieal or horizontal ipe constitutin a part of a eective in either position and, furthermore, it will be understood that the elbow bracket can be adjusted in or out with relation to the sleeve asvto roperly aline the shield over the ame of a urner so asetoprotect the wall there'above from injury due to the heat inuence of the ame.

It is apparent from the.foregoing 'description that the device is capable of va-A vious adjustments necessary to fit over` any' flame and that said device can be ornament' ed to conform to the tures, if desired.
