DUST-RECEIVER FOB VACUUM-CLEANERS.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Application filed October 29, 1910. SerialNo. 589,788.
Be it known that I, WILLIAM A. LEE, citizen of the United States, residing at Boston, in the county of Suflolk and the State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and useful dust-receiver for vacuum-cleaners that can be attached to any machine and at any point between the foot-piece or floor-tool and the pump, fan, or other device used for providing the vacuum. n
This invention relates to improvements in dust receptacles for vacuum cleaners, and its object is to construct such a receptacle of glass or other transparent material, so that the contents thereof are visible at all times.
Another object of the invention is to construct a dust receptacle for vacuum cleaners whereby the dust is collected on the outside instead of on the inside of a bag through which the air is sucked.
With the above and other objects in view,

I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent A device of the kind described compris ing a base having an upstanding rod, a cylindrical globe mounted on said base, a cap overlying said globe and carrying an inlet conduit, outlet conduits depending from said base and communicating with the globe, a filtering mantle, an annular roof of smaller diameter than said globe carried b said rod below the inlet conduit from WhlCh the mantle is suspended, 'said globe formed above said base with an annular groove, an expanded ring clamping the bottom of the mantle into said groove and stretching said mantle taut, said rod protruding throu h the cap, and a clamping nut engaging t e protruding portion of said rod and said cap to hold the cap and globe joined.
