To enable those skilled in the art Vto which my invention belongs to make and use the same, I will proceed to describe it more in detail.
The nature of my inventioneonsists* First, in the combination of two series of cuttingplates ot' elbow form, one-halt` of which are arranged in a reverse position to the other half, as will be hereafter explained.
Second, a bed-plate for rag or paper-mill engines, made in the peculiar manner hereafter explained.
In the drawinga a represent a series of steel cutting-plates, bent in elbow-form, and arranged between the out-er holding-plate A and the central plate B, with/ pieces of fibrous material 1 1 between them, as fully indicated in the drawing. y
Upon the opposite side of the central plate B, and
. between that and the back holding-plate C, is arranged another series of cutting-plates, b, bent in clbowform, land having pieces of fibrous material 2 2 inserted between the plates, as indicated in the drawing, the whole being held securely together by means By making the front, central, and back plates in curved form the stock is worked toward the center of the plate, thus insuring the complete cutting and separation oi' the fibers ofthe stock.
Having described my improvements in bed-plates for rag-engines for working paper stock,-
What I claim therein as new, and of my invention,
1. lhe combination of the series of bent plates a with the series of bent plates b, arranged in relation to each other, as shownl and described, and for' the purposes stated.
2. The combination, with the series of' plates v(t and b, of the central plate B, substantall y as and for the purposes set forth.
