To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WILLIAM P. ANDER- SON, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York city, State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Automatic Sewage-Ejectors and I do hereby declare the following to be a full,
clear, and exact description of the -inven tion, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the ac companying drawings, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in automatic sewage ejectors in which, while being especially adapted for sewage systems, may be equally well adapted for pumping purposes generally.
The invent-ion comprises a simple and eflicient apparatus having various details of construction and combinations and arrangements of parts which will be hereinafter fully described and then specifically defined :5 in the appended claim.

Reference now being had to the details of 5 the drawings by letter, A designates a receiving tank which should be placed sufficiently low to permit drainage by gravity thereto, and is provided with a top B apertured at C for the reception of the com- 0 pressed air or steam introduction pipe D and also having a suitably packed opening E for the reception of the float rod F having a yoke F therein which has slots H and H for the reception of the two levers N and 'O, 5 the former of which is fastened to the stem L of an inlet valve mounted within the easing L and with which a supply pipe L communicates, while the other of said levers is fixed to the stem Q of a vent valve within 0 the casing Q and which latter communicates with the atmosphere through the pipe Q The two valve casings communicate with each other through the pipe M.
Rising from the flange B of the closure 5 or top to the tank are the standards R and pivotally mounted upon the pins R are the two angle levers S and T respectively, the former of which has fixed thereto a weight S and the latter a weight T. The arm of the lever S is provided with a slot S for the reception of the lever M and an arm of the lever T is provided with a slot T for the reception of the leverO. It will be noted upon reference to the drawings that the marginal ends of the slots terminate one above the other while the other ends extend one below the other and provided for the purpose of causing one lever to be operated in advance of the other. Said rod F has fixed thereto stops J and J, and I designates a float having a central opening I for the a reception of said rod. A space intervenes between the wall of the opening I in the float and the rod in order to allow the float to move freely thereon. I
In operation, when the float in the receiver rises on the surface of the water within the receiving tank and, when the to of the float comes in contact with the stop it will elevate the rod F, the weight of the same and the resistance caused by the packing gland within the top of the receptacle causing the float to be partially submerged, thus permitting the receiver tank to fill to its full capacity. At that point, the lever O being-raised by the rod will cause the lever T to tilt upon its pivot R, closing the vent valve within the casing Q and immediately thereafter the angle lever S will have been tilted by the lever M, thus opening the valve within the casing L and permitting compressed air or steam, whichever is utilized, to enter through the supply pipe L and pipe D into the receiving tank, thus discharging the liquid. contents by displacement.
