, My invention consists in forming the handle 1 with a fuse box 3, having angular con ta'ct pieces 4 secured in its ends to which the power wires 'Aand the wires connected to the light 2 are secured.

Whenin operation it will'be understood that should the 'torch or its connections touch a metal structure, such as a piece of machinery, so that the current is shortcircuited, the effect would be to burnout one or both fuses 1 1, but as said fuses are located only'in -the'bran'ch circuit to the single lamp or torch, only the one lamp will bedarkened, and the location of the fuseboat on the handle of the torch makes the replacing of the burned out .fuse a simple matter, easily and quickly accomplished.

Having thus described my invention what I claim is 1. In combination. with a portable electric light having a. handle formed with a recess, contact pieces secured in said recess, the, power wires and light-circuit wires secured to said contact pieces, a removable cojverior said recess, spring contact pieces secured to said cover and adapted to engage the contact pieces in the recess and hold the cover from displacement, and fuses connecting said spring contact pieces on the cover. 2. combination with a portable electric light having: a handle formed with a re-.. cess, contact pieces secured in the ends of said recess, the power wires and light cir-. cuit Wire's secured to said cont-act pieces, a removable cover for said'recess having downmediate spine or rib forming the inner side of the cover with two channels, spring contact pieces secured in said channels and adapted to engage the contact pieces in the recess and hold the cover from displacement, and fuses connecting said spring con-- tact pieces on the cover.
