To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that we, MORRIS R. BAssand WILLIAM A. ALEXANDER, citizens of the United States, and residents of Boston, in the county of Suffolk and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and Im-. proved Cue-Rack, of which the following is a full, clear, and exactdescription.

The object of our invention is to provide a cue rack, so constructed as to provide for imparting longitudinal compression to the one While in the rack, for repairing the tips of the cues, and at the same time to so support the cues, while under longitudinal compressive action, as to prevent lateral or sidewise movement of the cues; and to further provide a cue rack of ornamental appearance, which will safely hold the cues when inserted therein, and prevent their with-' draw'al' without the consent of the user or owner of the cues.

Reference is to be had to the accompany ing drawings forming a part of this specification, in which the same characters of reference indicate the same parts in all the views.

Figurel shows a front perspective view of a cue rack embodying our invention; Fig. 2 shows in side elevation one of the tip clamps, the lower end of the clamp being in section to show the socket; Fig. 3 shows a top plan view of one of the locking braces;-

Our improved cue rackcomprises a backboard A, which may be made of any suitable material and ornamented in any desired manner. Extending across the front of the back-board'A and near'its lower end' and projecting at right-angles therefrom 'is a shelf B, preferably supported by means of brackets b. In the upper surface of the shelf B are seats or sockets b of a size to receive the butt ends of the cues. 7
