To all whom it moi concern:

Be it known that I, IRVING Lnwuv, a c1t1- the city of New York, borough of Manhattan, in the county and State of New York, have invented a, new and Improved Necktie, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.

My inventionrelates to a new and improved form of reversible entirely woven necktie. a

An object of my invent-ion is to provide an all-woven necktie which comes from the loom completely woven, having the neckband thereof of the common tubular construction and the ends forming with the neckband, a reversible open-ended four-inhand tie. l y

A further object of my invention is to provide an entirely machine-made and automatically shaped tie, the ends of which consist of three plies, one woven beneath the other, and one of said plies being between the outer two.

A further object of my invention is to provide a tie of the above indicated construction, the weaving thread of which is integral end to end, to eliminate the raw edges, commonly found on ties of similar constructions.

With the above and other objects in view, as will more fully hereinafter appear, the presentinvention consists in certain novel details of construction and arrangement of parts hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings, and more particularly pointed out in the appended claim.

Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification, in which similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the figures, and in which- Figure 1 is a plan view of myinvention showing a preferred embodiment thereof;

Described-more in detail, my improved tie is entirely machine made coming from the loom complete as shown, and comprises a central tubular neck portion 5,, both ends of which are flared outward to form a wing connection 6 between the ends 7 and the tubular or neck portion 5 to form a tying portion. The end portions come from the loom in folded condition, as shown in Fig. 1, which folded condition is formed by folded plies comprisin a lower ply 8, an intermediate ply 9, an as shown in Fig. 3, an upper and middle ply 10. Along the end 11, each edge is automatically stitched by the loom at several spaced-apart points 1 2, in order to retain the end in a flat condition. My improved tie is of one continuous piece of 'material shaped as shown, the weaving thread of which is one continuous thread, thereby preventing the showing of any raw edges. As shown, the plies 8 and 10 merge into each other at 13, to form the tubular neck portion 5.

Many changes could be made in the above construction and many a parently widely different embodiments of this invention could be made without departing from thescope thereof. It is intended, that all matters contained herein in the above descrip-.
