IMPROVEMENT IN WARDR OBE-IHOOKS.
The Schedule referred to in these Lettera Patent and making part of the sama To all whom it may concern Be' it known that I, J. B. SARGENT, of' New Haven, in the county of New H11-ven, and State of Connect-icnt,have inventedl a new Improvement in Vardrobe- Hooks; and vl do hereby declare the bllowing, when taken in connect-ion with the accompanying drawings and the ,letters of reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, and which said drawings constitute part of l this speeiiication, and represent in- Figuie l a side view of a coat and hat-hook with two nails.

The invention consists in forming.,r orl attaching to the base of the hook two or more nails, either or all of vwhich are annealed, the end ofthe annealed nail or nails beveled in one direction only, so that in drivin the said nail is by the beveled end causedl to turn ou of a di1ect'patl|,` aiid by such turning the nail clinches, as it were, into the wall.
By preference I form the nails from annealed wire, but may be fromany .other suitable material.
The points of such nails are beveled only in one direction, as seen at a, so that when the nail is driven the beveled point inelines the point, and cansesiit to turn in the wall, as-shown in broken lines in the sevfor the hook or knob, and as they are secured by driv' ing the nail, they are put up much more rapidly than hooks of common construction.
I claim as my invention- Wardrobe-hooks constructed with two drivingpoints, one or both of which .are beveled, as shown and described.
