Abstract

The proposed invention relates to manufacturing a wire, whose design feature is that it has a core and a shell located around along the perimeter and made of a material, which differs by its physical properties from the core material. The wire is intended for use in machinery for deposition of metal on the surfaces of machine parts in order to strengthen them. The bimetallic electrode wire is characterized in that it comprises a core made of central aluminum conductor of circular cross section, around which in contact with it nickel strands are symmetrically located having the circular cross section of the same diameter, while the nickel strands contact with each other with formation of air pockets f1 between them and the aluminum core along the wire, the diameter of each strand is from 0.8 to 0.85 mm, the nickel strands are twisted in a spiral with a pitch t of twisting along the length of wire equal to 30 ÷ 50 mm and the core of wire is located in a continuous shell made of aluminum and having a cross section of round shape, and the aluminum content in the wire is 27.16-28.0 %, and nickel - within 72.84-72.0 %. It is also disclosed a device and method for manufacturing the bimetallic electrode wire. The result of technical solutions is the improvement of quality of bimetallic wire electrode, simplification of the device design and control of the device operation.
