Abstract
A method for predicting fracture healing comprises clinical examination, radiography. Based on detection of genetic polymorphism of nitric oxide synthase (eNOS Τ 786), and measurement of total glycosaminoglycan (GAG) concentration, a fracture healing may be predicted if heterozygous carrier status of 786-TC is revealed and the level of glycosaminoglycan is 24-28 mcmol/l.
